A Happy Rookie

http://seattlesportsnet.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/strasburg.jpg

Well the deal is finally done. Stephen Strasburg is officially a Washington National. They signed him at 11:58 and 43 seconds last night. The deadline was 12:00. The $15.1 million deal is the highest for a rookie in the history of baseball. Strasburg had phenomenal numbers this past season with the San Diego State Aztecs. The 2009 #1 pick went 13-1 with a 1.32 ERA and 195 strike outs in 109 innings! Also, he had two complete games and a no hitter as a junior. He allowed 4 home runs out of 378 batters. This kid could be the real deal. Some say he is going to play in the majors THIS YEAR. I don't think that will happen, but I do think he will be a great major league pitcher. A player like him can really help the Nationals get some more fans at the games, especially because of how they have played for the last two years.

he is crazy good, the nationals could put him in their rotation now and he would probably do just as well as the rest of them...
