Time to Relax...At Least For Two Years

Brett Favre does not deserve a picture. He makes sports writers bored out of their mind. He makes Packers fans despise him. He makes Jets fans despise him. Now, he has a 2-year, $25 million under his belt. There will be no more Brett Favre controversies, at least for two years, and now he'll just play football. Favre signed with Minnesota yesterday after he said he "can't come back" just three weeks ago. Sure enough, he is expected to be wearing a purple and white #4 on Friday against the Chiefs. Yes, the Vikings are much better with Favre behind center, but imagine what Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels are thinking. Brad Childress gave them the opportunity to go out there and win the starting quarterback job, until he signed Favre. Jackson and Rosenfels both had confidence in themselves, I am assuming, to win that job, but now what? And think about the Vikings players. They probably can't trust their coach now. He told everybody Favre wasn't coming back, but he called Brett himself yesterday asking him to come to Minnesota. Not a very bold offseason for Brad Childress.
