Key Matchups: College Football Style

Another week in college football, another week of upsets. Four Top 10 teams went down last week, moving four new teams into the Top 10. Florida and Texas, the #1 and #2 ranked teams, each have a bye week, but there ares still many important games out there this weekend, including 3 of the Top 10 teams playing ranked opponents. Here are just a few of those games to watch this weekend:

8 Oklahoma at 17 Miami
This could be game of the week. Jacory Harris had a rough game last week with just 150 yards and an interception while completing just 9 of 25 pass attempts. Landry Jones, on the other hand, has 673 yards and 9 touchdowns this year while filling in for injured Sam Bradford. The game should come down to defense: this is going to be the toughest place Landry Jones has played in his college career, and I think that the team that can control the opposing QB will win the game, which I think will barely be Oklahoma.

7 USC at 24 California
Cal had an embarrassing loss last week, losing 42-3 at Oregon. If they lost 42-3 to a good team, I don't think they can beat a great team after a performance like last week. Yes, Jahvid Best will have a solid game, but the Trojans lead the country in sacks this year with 18.0 so far. If the USC running game can step up in this hostile environment, which I think they can, the Trojans should improve to 4-1.

Florida State at Boston College
The question for FSU is whether or not they can rebound from the loss last week to the Matt Grothe-less USF Bulls. They had 19, yes that's right, 19 rushing yards last week, and they need to get more production from the backfield if they want to beat BC, who is 3-1 on the year. I don't know if they can get the production that they want, considering that they are 75th in the country in rushing. I think BC comes out on top coming off of a motivational overtime win against Wake Forest.
