Rivalry Renewed

Of course I had to post on last nights game, how could I not? For 14.5 innings, the Yankees and the Red Sox were tied at 0-0 thanks to great pitching on both sides. Unfortunately for Red Sox fans, A-Rod hit a walk-off in the bottom of the 15th. Although the Yankees lost it's first eight games to Boston, I still think the Red Sox needed that game. They are now back by 4.5 games and possibly 5.5 back soon (they're down 5-0 in the 8th right now), and still have another game tomorrow. Even the Rangers and the Rays are catching up to them in the Wild Card race. Boston was doing horrible, and then great, and now have lost four straight and could be five. They only lead the Wild Card by 1.5 games over Texas and 2.5 to the Rays, who have heated up after the All Star break, just like the Yankees who are in great shape. They are 16-5 since the All Star break, and I think the home run for A-Rod can lift his confidence. Besides, a 15-inning loss has to bring the Red Sox's confidence down.

I agree that the Red Sox haven't been doing too good lately, but last nights game was very good. The Yankees have been doing well, but tonights game will be the real test because two 14 game winners will be pitching against one another.
