The NFL season is in session. All 32 first round draft picks have been signed...oh, right. Never mind, only 31. Michael Crabtree still hasn't been signed due to contract issues with the 49ers. The 49ers definitely want and need this to get done. The San Fran president Jed York offered a face-to-face meeting with Crabtree to see if they can finally put the icing on the cake. They beat the defending NFC champion Cardinals on Sunday 20-16 in Arizona! If Crabtree was in Arizona wearing a 49ers uniform, they may have won by more. Look, they drafted him for a reason: the kid's got talent. If they can get him on the field, it will be a HUGE benefit for San Francisco. Shaun Hill had a decent game with a touchdown and 209 yards, but that could be higher if Crabtree was playing. In 2008, Isaac Bruce had 835 yards and 7 touchdowns as the number 1 receiver, but another solid receiver could strengthen the offense. It's just amazing to see someone in a situation like this. Although Crabtree was an amazing college player and I think he will be a great pro, he has not done anything yet and is asking for more money than any of us can ever imagine. It's hard to picture him getting signed anytime soon, if this meeting with York doesn't go well.
