Can you believe it? We are already in Week 6 of the NFL season! Over a month of football has been played so far, and many unfortunate injuries, unfortunate losses and unfortunate controversial calls have occurred. But out of all the madness, there has been some good. Who knew the Broncos would start 5-0? (Yes, they had an easy schedule, but they did beat the Patriots.) On the other hand, who knew Tennessee would be 0-5? (Yes, they have had a tough schedule, but they have more losses this year than they did all of last year including the playoffs, and you'd think they would be able to win at least one game). Two of the remaining three undefeated teams in the NFC go head-to-head, while there are also some important divisional games this weekend. Boy does it feel great being able to post for the first time in a while. Who do I think will come out with a W in the big games? Here are my picks for week 6:
Giants at Saints - Giants
Don't get me wrong when I pick the Giants. I think the Saints are a very good team, but I just think the Giants have a little more balance. The Giants' second string running back Ahmad Bradshaw had 110 yards rushing and 2 TDs on just 11 carries last week. Yes, it was against the Raiders, but Bradshaw has proved he can play. Now that the Giants have a two-back tandem, their offense poses a huge threat to opposing defenses, as Steve Smith and Mario Manningham have become targets for Eli Manning. Again, I just think the Giants' defense and offense are better than the Saints' defense and offense.
Ravens at Vikings - Vikings
I am going to give the edge to the Vikings only because they are home. If this game was in Baltimore, I would pick the Ravens. But the Vikings are home, and they have the league's best running back, Adrian Peterson, who I think will have a fantastic game. I think that the talented Vikings D-line will stop the Baltimore running backs from putting up the numbers they have so far this season. I definitely would not be surprised if Baltimore won this game, but I just think the Vikings have momentum, while the Ravens have lost two straight.
Broncos at Chargers - Chargers
The Broncos have had an amazing run, there is no question about it. But I think it's about time the Chargers got back on track. Denver has been the surprise team of the year, but Josh McDaniels has not coached in an environment as noisy and tough as he will on Monday night. The Chargers are their division rivals, and I expect a big game from the Chargers defense, and I truly think that LT can have himself a good game on Monday night.
