The Fines Are Not Fine

So I go onto nfl.com to check for fantasy injury reports. When I get to the main page, under headlines, there are three titles stating players were fined by the NFL. Who else but Chad Ochocinco lost $20K for pretending to bribe a referee with a one dollar bill. The other fines were to Chargers safety Eric Weddle for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Giants tight end Kevin Boss and Texans safety Eugene Wilson for an illegal hit on Colts tight end Dallas Clark. It seems like fines are given out left and right, and that's because they are. It's really a drag for all of the young, avid football fans to see their favorite athletes get fined. Football players are not the brightest humans in the world, but you'd think that by now they would know what to do and what not do in the world of football, on and off the field. Some of the fines for unnecessary roughness and helmet-to-helmet tackle are difficult to judge because a lot of the time players make unintentional hits, but it really is not that hard to follow the rules. The only difference from athletes disobeying the rules and non-athletes disobeying the rules is that athletes have the money to pay for most of the fines while the rest of the world does not.
