Roy Halladay, Blue Jays Pitcher
Roy Halladay. Cliff Lee. Adrian Gonzalez. Victor Martinez. These are some names of players who have been in major trade talks as the trade deadline approaches. It seems like many of the trades that could happen won't. It starts with Roy Halladay. The possible AL Cy Young Award winner seemed like a lock to be in a Philadelphia Phillies uniform by July 31st. The Blue Jays rejected a trade offer that would send three Phillies to Toronto, and now it looks likely that a trade won't happen at all. The Red Sox were looking at Padres 1st baseman Adrian Gonzalez, but the Red Sox would have to give up a lot to get him. As the trade deadline comes close to an end, the best player to leave their previous team is Athletics OF Matt Holliday, who is now playing aside Albert Pujols back in the National League. Last year it was Sabathia, in 2007 it was Teixeira, this year it seemed like Halladay was the blockbuster, but as each day goes by it seems less likely he will be out of Toronto by the 31st. Not saying that a trade can't happen; in baseball, anything can happen. But at this point, many of the trades that seemed sure now seem dead.

I totally agree...the past two years Halladay was in the same exact situation and he didn't go anywhere. I think he will still be in a Blue Jays uniform for at least the rest of this season.
